Typus: Argentina, Provincia de Córdoba, Sierra Chica, inter pagos Ascochinga et La Cumbre, 1450–1600 m s.m., leg. H. Till HT 88–229, 27. 10. 1988, cultus in collectione H. Till sub numero 1725 (Holotypus: WU).

Körper body
Form - halbkugelig shape - hemispherical
Hoehe / Durchmesser - 25 mm / 50-60 mm height / diameter - 25 mm / 50-60 mm
Epidermis - dunkelgrün bis blaugraugrün, glatt, etwas glänzend epidermis - dark green to blue grey green, smooth, a little shiny
Rippen - meist 8, 19-20 mm breit rib - mostly 8, width: 19-20 mm
Wurzel - lang, oft pfahlartig root - long, often stake shaped

Areolenform - oval areole shape - oval
Areolenabstand - 11-12 mm areole distance - 11-12 mm
Areolenlaenge - 2,5-3,0 mm areole length - 2,5-3,0 mm
Areolenbreite - 2,0 mm areole breadth - 2,0 mm
Dornen - (5-)7, strahlenförmig, leicht nach unten gebogen,     zuweilen auch gerade, das oberste Paar 11-12 mm lang, alle stielrund, an der Basis dunkelbraun, sonst elfenbeinfarben bis weiß, nicht stechend spine - (5-)7, radiating, slightly bent down, sometimes straight, the upmost pair 11-12 mm long, stalk-rounded, dark brown on the base, else from ebony coloured to white, non-piercing
Mitteldorn - 12-14 mm (selten bei jungen Pflanzen) central spine - 12-14 mm (rare at young plants)

Blütenform - trichterig flower shape - funnel-shaped
Blütenblätter - cremweiß bis zartrosa, rosa Schlund flower petals - cream with to soft rose, pink gullet

Staubbeutel - klein, rund, 1-1,2 mm lang, gelb stamens - small, round, 1-1,2 mm long, yellow
Pollen - hellgelb pollen - lightyellow

Griffelfarbe - an der Basis weiß, nach oben grünlich werdend style color - white on the base, greenish on the top
